We are about to leave Canton’s city of Guangzhou after reaching the 6th semifinal of the year and losing it to a surprisingly good Denisa Allertova – executioner of world’s n.2 Simona Halep in quartfinals – and we are off to Wuhan for the second tournament held in the land of the dragons.
Our Sara Errani will compete in both singles and doubles main draws of this Premier5: in 1R – as the n.6 seed – she will face the French Caroline Garcia – coming from Toray Open’s 1R loss against Camila Giorgi in Tokyo; the previous match records favour the frenchwoman, who is up 2-1 thanks to Wimbledon’s and Madrid’s wins in 2014. This will be the first ever match-up played on hardcourts. Also, Sara is in the 2nd favourite side of the draw: she might play Maria Sharapova in round of 16.
You will find full singles main draw HERE.
As for doubles, the last minute withdrawal announced by Flavia Pennetta who decided to take a few more days to rest from her major effort in Flushing Meadows, Sarita requested and received a wild card to enter the main draw with the lioness Francesca Schiavone.
The Roland Garros legends will already step into the game tomorrow on Court5 2nd match of the day (starting from 12.30 pm local time) to face the US team n.5 seed composed by Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears.
