After the upset in Eastbourne’s WTA Premier that costed her a R2 elimination, our Sara Errani gives it one more chance in Wimbledon’s Grand Slam.

The third and last European Grand Slam tournament is finally on its way: Tour – along with our Sara Errani – takes a City cab and requests stop at the legendary All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon.

Right after the unfair elimination from Eastbourne’s WTA Premier, where a shocking call from the line umpire costed her a R2 upset against the German Andrea Petkovic, our warrior is ready to try again on the world toughest field: London’s grass.

The draw, who took place yesterday, seems to compensate the tort suffered a few days ago, and sets Sarita’s debut – as n.20 seed, following Victoria Azarenka withdrawal due to knee injury – against the n.100 player in world rankings, Maria Patricia Tig. The young Romanian, 21, is currently one step away to double her highest career ranking (99), as she has been proving herself to be very versatile: in fact, she’s been Baku’s finalist last year (hard court) and reached a stunning Quarterfinal in Madrid about 3 months ago. This will be her first appearance in Wimbledon’s main draw.

This clash is unprecedented, as the girls never met before, and will take place tomorrow on Court14 as second match, starting from 12.30pm local time.

Just like Eastbourne, our Sara Errani will also try to shine in the very same competition that turned her into a Tour legend as a Career Grand Slam holder. Once again, she will team up with the Georgian Oksana Kalashnikova (n.15 seed), with whom she reached Indian Wells’ Semifinal this year, and will face Barbora Strycova and Michaella Krajicek.
