Wimbledon 2011: great win over Top20

Sara has pulled off an upset at Wimbledon today. She beat 17th seed Kaia Kanepi in straight sets: 6-1, 6-4, her first win over a top20 player since the US Open of 2009. Sara didn’t start the match well as she got broken immediately, but won 6 straight games after that. In the second set, Kanepi regrouped, but Sara broke her at 4-4 and was able to serve out the match in the next game. After the match, Sara said that she feels good on the grass, as it’s already her third week playing on it, and she is adapted to it now. She likes the courts at Wimbledon, and she thought she served well throughout the match today.

Estonian tv has uploaded a small clip from the match here.

In the second round, Sara will play against Kateryna Bondarenko or Alizé Cornet. Bondarenko won the first set 7-5 before their match got suspended because of rain.
