US Open 2015: Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles main draws

Here we are, back on track nowhere better than the Big Apple! We have got a full week to rest and wait for our Sarita to go back on court for the last Grand Slam tournament of the year!

Flushing Meadows upgrading venue – celebrating several anniversaries such as the 10-yearly introduction of blue courts – is all set to host both the 2015 edition of the US Open and our warrior Sara Errani, who has already been in the NYC limelight over the last 3 years thanks to a fine quarterfinal and an amazing semifinal (2012).

The Singles’ draw has already stated its favors: Sarita – n.16-seeded – will compete in the bottom half and had to wait a few more days to get to know her first Qualifier opponent – Japan’s Mayo Hibi.
This young (1996) player – alike her compatriot Kei Nishikori – resides and trains in the United States of America, California. No need to say she prefers fast and hard kind of courts then. Mayo joined the pros in 2013 and actually stances at the 177th place in the WTA rankings. This is her first participation in a Grand Slam tournament’s main draw, following her wins over Edina Gallovits-Hall (3-6, 6-1, 6-2), Patricia Maria Tig (4-6, 6-4, 6-3) and Sorana Cirstea (6-4, 6-4).
Aside from the 1st round, several major seeded players would be in Errani ‘s road to victory, such as Caroline Wozniacki (last-16 Round) – and an unchained Petra Kvitova (Quarterfinals) – who just came out on top in New Haven.

Also, Sara Errani and her partner Flavia Pennetta will compete as n.11-seeded couple in Women’s Doubles draw and face the US duo Irina Falconi/Anna Tatishvili – accredited with a Wild Card valid for Main Draw by USTA – in first round. The Italians will be in the same quarterfinals side of n.3s Mladenovic/Babos.

It is not over yet, because our Sarita will also join forces with Fabio Fognini in Mixed Doubles draw – just fresh out ot the oven. They will play another US couple: Abigail Spears and Scott Lipsky.
