The amazing Doubles rise continues for our Sara Errani at the 2015 US Open, who reaches the Semifinals with her partner Flavia Pennetta.

The major effort and the decision of the n.1 of Italy of keep playing doubles even though considering her flu symptomps has been paying off: after beating 3 American couples – Falconi/Tatishvili, Muhammed/Sanchez and Spears/Kops-Jones – the Italians dominate the duo Andreja Klepac and Lara Arrabuarena in their quartefinal match.

The leaders of the Fed Cup win against Serena Williams’ USA team showed a superior level of play – as the first set score displayed. They also showed lots of personality in recovering from a 1-3 disadvantage and going up to a significant 5-3. They didn’t complete their rush though, and Klepac and Arrabuarena came back into the match. Luckily it was just a little chip on our girls’ shoulders, as they proceeded toward another massive victory. Final score: 6-0, 5-7, 6-2.

Their next opponents will be no other than the n.1s ranked and seeded – Martina Hingis e Sania Mirza – who got into semifinals following a slightly rough win against the Chan twins (7-6(5), 6-1). The couples will take on the Louis Armstrong Stadium – 3rd match starting from 11am – to battle for the final. Let’s go Italy!
