Sara has improved her best ever result at Roland Garros, by reaching the 3rd round. Today she beat Melanie Oudin quite comfortably: 6-2, 6-3. In the first set, Sara took a quick 5-0 lead, and though Oudin got one break back, it wasn’t enough and Sara served the set out in her next service game. The second set was closer, until Sara placed the decisive break late in the set. In the third round Sara will play against Ana Ivanovic. They have met twice before, at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, both in 2009. Ivanovic won both matches.

On facebook, Sara dedicated today’s victory to the victims of yesterdays earthquake in Italy.

In doubles, Sara and Roberta won their first round comfortably yesterday: 6-1, 6-3 over Brianti/Mayr-Achleitner. They will play Timea Babos and Su-Wei Hsieh in the next round.
