Following her latest injury occurred during Fed Cup match with the Italian Team, our Sara Errani will not be able to compete and defend her title as Champion @ the 2017 Dubai Duty Free Championships.
Hello everybody,
first of all I wish to address every single person who showed me love and support throughout the past weekend. Every word of encouragement and every message I’ve received helped me get through and truly cheered me up. Also, I hope that my fans will understand my current situation and stick with me like they have been doing tirelessly for all these years. Your support can’t compare with any other’s and I look forward to share more achievements with all of you.
As you already know, the past 2 months haven’t been the luckiest, since I haven’t been allowed to reach a proper shape to compete at my best. Nevertheless, I proudly chose to be there for my country and provide all the support I could to our Team. To represent and to play for Italy has been and will always be an honour for me, especially when it comes to bring it back to the World Group I, where it belongs.
Unfortunately, I’ve sufferd a right adductor injury during my last match against Slovakia, and that is the reason why I regret not being able to compete in the 2017 Dubai Duty Free Championships. I would be lying if I said I don’t feel truly saddened right now. Dubai’s tournament has been crucial to my season since the beginning, as I tried to schedule every move in order to be 100% ready to defend my title as Champion.
Accordingly to what doctors suggested, I will take the right time to recover before getting back on court, which I hope will be as soon as possible. Dubai, I’ll see you next year!
