Our Sara Errani in action vs Gibbs during the decisive Qualifying Round today @ Roland Garros 2017

Once again – hopefully it will be the latest and not the last –  our Sara Errani rejoined with TENNISTOPIC after her 3rd and decisive Qualifying win over Gibbs to access the 2017 Roland Garros main draw.

Sara Errani:

I was pretty nervous today, but that’s fine. After all, it was the decisive round to qualify for the main draw. It was all about the win. I wish I could have played more relaxed but she (ndr. Nicole Gibbs) didn’t help me at all. She is not an easy opponent to beat. She would camp on the baseline and let you push to finish the rally over and over again before dropping a single point. I only managed to loose it up a little on 3-0, althought she got injured straightaway after.

Overall, I’m satisfied with my tennis. I think I’ve played well, even thought I could have done slightly better today. Truth is that of course it has depended on my opponent’s skills as well. Hopefully I would have the time to work on a couple of things before going back on court, now that I got at least one day to practice.

But anyway, like I said, the only thing that mattered today was bringing home the win and qualify. I don’t care who I’ll draw in R1, I’m just so happy I’ll be playing another Roland Garros!”
