Sara is in the quarterfinal of the Premier tournament in Sydney. In the first round she won the Italian derby against Roberta Vinci, 6-4, 6-2. In the second round Sara beat Lauren Davis, 7-5, 6-2.

In the quarterfinal, Sara will play against Tsvetana Pironkova from Bulgaria. Sara won their only previous meeting (in Brisbane in 2009) in three sets.
