There’s only 1 week left before the US Open and our Sara Errani will get as ready as possible for the last Grand Slam event of the year in the Big Apple nearest New Haven at the Connecticut Open.

To Sarita’s benefit, a few seeded players – Belinda Bencic to name one – withdrew from the tournament so that she would take part in it the competition as the n.8-seed. She would also have the chance to have her payback from last year 1R loss (v. Muguruza) against Kristina “Kiki” Mladenovic for the second time in 2 weeks – Rogers’ Cup 1R (5-7, 6-1, 6-0).
Italy n.1 player would play in the same half draw of the top-seeded  Simona Halep, who, however has just informed the tournament about her withdrawal after Cincinnati’s singles women’s final; she has been replaced by the Lucky Loser Lesia Tsurenko. Errani might face her first seeded opponent – Lucie Safarova (n.4/WC) – in quarterfinals.

Furthermore, since US Open is coming up fast, Sara decided to focus her energies on singles this week as she will not play Doubles. Back in Cincinnati – along with her new partner Flavia Pennetta –  our warrior reached the 2nd consecutive quarter final round: unfortunately the girls had to surrender against the Chan twins after a furious battle (7-6(4) – 6-7(1), 17-19).

Our Sarita will play today’s Grandstand first match at 12pm (local time).
