The n.2 seeded, n.12 of the world ranking and n.1 Italian ranked player defeated the American Lauren Davis (n. 54 in WTA ranking) in a 1-hour match during her first round. Final score: 6-0, 6-3.

Sarita’s latest opponent was the Ungarian Timea Babos, n. 90 in the world and entered main draw through qualifications. Her second victory came in straight sets with a double 6-3 score, granting her the access into Mexicans quartefinals.

Tomorrow, Sara will face the n.5 seeded player, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who made her way over Cichi’s opponent in Rio’s final – Anna Schmiedlova – and the Swedish Larsson.
