Once again Sabine Lisicki proved herself to be the bete noir of Sara: for the second time in 2 weeks – Indian Wells and Miami – Sarita has been threw out of a Premier Mandatory main draw by the German, who put on a show where the Italian had only a small part.
Lisicki entered the court with the very same belligerancy she had left it at the BNP Paribas Open and started to shoot anything moving within the tennis field. Sara tried her best to fight her way into the match – especially in the second set – even saving 2 MPs, but still in vain. Final score: 6-1, 6-2.
Next week Sara will officially start her clay season at Charleston’s Family Circle Cup green courts.
