Here for you Sara Errani post-match press conference after defeating Lesia Tsurenko in singles (6-4, 6-4) and having lost to Mattek-Sands/Safarova in doubles with partner Flavia Pennetta (0-6, 6-7).

Congratulations on your singles victory today. When you were up 5-o and everything was working, and she started hitting aggressively, what did you tell yourself when she started to come back to close the match?

I just tried to be a little more aggressive because in the first games she was really solid but she wasn’t really hitting very strong shots, on the contrary from the 5-0 she started to get really good points, so basically I just tried to keep it going, stay focused and being a little more aggressive.

What do you feel about playing Halep tomorrow? Despite of the result, do you have any specific expectation from this tournament or if you come up short would you feel like you have been progressing throughout the week anyway?

Well, I hope tomorrow would be a good day for me as well, but of course I know Halep is an unbelievable player. She’s very solid, she hits the ball very strong. I would have to perform a perfect match, but, yes, I would also have less pressure.

What do you think makes Simona a difficult player? What makes her so good?

She does everything good, she doesn’t miss often and she’s also aggressive. She has got great fundamentals, especially down-the-line shots. She makes it difficult to close the points because she can also move very well.

I have talked to Garbine (ndr. Muguruza) earlier this week and she kind of wanted to ask you about how to deal to with the pressure and how make a Grand Slam final and still staying in the Top10. If you offered her an advice, what would it be?

I guess I would tell her that winning matches is very difficult anyway, not only in Grand Slams. There are always good players and if you know that, you are both ready to fight and even lose matches. It is not just because you did a GS final that you are supposed to win every match after that. Just continue to to your best as always. That’s it.

I know you came up short today in doubles, but how much fun it is to play with Flavia?

*laughs* You are right. That is a really important thing, we have fun. We have been knowing each other for a long time so we both feel at ease on the court together.
