Here’s Sara Errani‘s commentary on last-16 round match won against Andrea Petkovic today on National Tennis Stadium in Beijing – China Open 2015. Another shining success which allows our Sarita to add another record to her palmarés as the first and only italian tennis player to ever reach at least quarterfinals in each Premier Mandatory (Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, Pechino):
“It was a really tough match and of course because Andrea (ndr. Petkovic) is an unbelievably good player so it was not easy: I started the first set up 3-1 and then I had like a black-out until 3-6; I was feeling really tired and I had difficulties breathing (ndr. The pollution rate registered today in Beijing was 360, that is 260 more than tolerance limit).“
“In the second set I tried not to think too much about that and focus on playing point by point. The third set was really close but in the end it went good for me.“
“I didn’t really change too much between the first set and the rest of the match. In the first I made too many mistakes and I was not moving that well so starting from the secondo I just tried to run more, be solid and also tried to put every ball back on the court.”
“Well, frankly I don’t have any particular expectations. For me having reach quartefinals here is already fine, whether it would be against Suarez Navarro or Bacsinszky I am going to have another match to fight, to play and I hope being able to do my best.”.
