Flawless performance by our Sara Errani today as she has just torn down the third brick of the Great Wall of China – Ying-Ying Duan, Kai-Lin Zhang and Saisai Zheng – to reach the sitxth semifinal of 2015, add precious extra points for the Zhuhai Masters race and immediately re-enter the Top20 in WTA singles ranking.

After 2 stormy rounds played and won by our warrior – in which she did not show any technical difficulties rather than climate intolerance to Guangzhou rain season conditions, very humid and hot,  that regularly caused her physical drops – today’s match has definitively a turning point thanks to evening scheduling as Sarita dominated her opponent in every way.

After an early false step that costed her a service break, Errani closed every window to Zheng’s strikes and stacked 12 consecutive games. She put her best technical and tactical effort against a powerful Chinese-schooled player who usually likes to keep the point short, equally from the net and the baseline. Final score: 6-1, 6-0.

Our next opponent will be the Czech Denisa Allertova – WTA n.77 – who has been the protagonist of a major upset, coming out as winner against world’s n.2 Simona Halep (6-4, 6-3); there is no match record between the two. The semifinal will take place on Guangzhou Centre Court not before 6pm local time. VAMOS!
