Apologies for the lack of updates, but I was away and unable to update the site.

So, lets recap the end of the season. Sara lost in the quarterfinals of Linz to her doubles partner Roberta Vinci, and together they lost in the semis in Linz to Peschke/Srebotnik. In Moscow, Sara reached the second round; she beat Savchuk, but lost to Kleybanova. In doubles, she surprisingly reached the final. She teamed up with Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, and they only lost the final in a match tiebreak against the #1 team in the world, Dulko/Pennetta.

To finish the season. Sara was in the Italian Fed Cup team that played the final in and against the USA. Italy won 3-1 to successfully defend their title, but Schiavone and Pennetta clinched the tie in the singles matches, so Sara didn’t play.
