For the third time this year, Sara and Roberta are in a Grand Slam final! In the semifinal they beat the Spanish duo of Llagostera Vives and Martinez Sanchez in two sets: 6-3, 6-2. Their opponents in the final aren’t known yet – it will be either Hsieh/Medina Garrigues or Hlavackova/Hradecka. The US Open website has a nice article about the match.

Earlier this year, Sara and Roberta lost the Australian Open final, but they won the Roland Garros final, so they’re 1-1 for the year. They’ve also won 6 titles other than Roland Garros.

Of course there has been a lot of attention in the press for yesterdays quarterfinal.
