Tough day for Sara at Monterrey yesterday. Her singles semifinal against Timea Babos was a really tough match. Babos played really well, with a strong serve and good groundstrokes. Sara struggled to get a hold on her serve, and partly as a result of that also to get a rhythm. She lost the first set 4-6, and in the second set Babos took a 5-4 lead. At that point, Sara broke back, and she won the second set in a tiebreak: 7-6. The third set started with a break for both, but after that both players held serve easily, until the last game of the match. At 5-4, Babos broke Sara for a 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 win.
The doubles semifinal was better than the singles though. Sara and Roberta beat Dulko/Suarez in straight sets: 6-3, 6-3. In the final they will play against Date-Krumm/Zhang. It’s their 11th final together, and so far they have won 5 titles.
