The Australian Open are over for Sara, after she lost to Yanina Wickmayer in the third round: 1-6 7-6 3-6. After Wickmayer won the first set easily, Sara started to play very well, and added more variety in her game. This worked, and she took an early break in the second set. She couldn’t keep the break, but in the end she took the set in a tiebreak. In the third set, Sara took an early break again, but Wickmayer fought back and in the end she took the set 6-3.
Despite the loss, Sara played a good match, and a good tournament. Also, with this result, she has defended her points from last year, and she will probably move up to place 45 on the rankings.
