Unfortunately for our warrior Sara Errani – who just came back from such an amazing yet tiring week in Toronto – Western&Southern Open’s tricky first round against Daria Gavrilova turned out to be even lethal.

Once again – the two faced each other less than 2 months ago on Eastobourne’s grass (1-6, 7-5, 2-6) – the 22-years-old Russian got away with it in 3 sets, as Cincinnati’s (Ohio) hard courts looked definitively more hostile for Italy’s n.1 player who, similarly to what happened within the previous match-up on British soil, could not manage to hold the Muscovite’s return performance during the first set.  Sarita later succeeded in stepping her game up and reducing unforced errors to level the match, but still could not complete her comeback in the decisive third part. Final score: 1-6, 6-4, 2-6.

Luckily our time in Cincinnati is not done yet, because our Sara Errani got already back on court yesterday to team up with Flavia Pennetta in Doubles’ first round and won over Lara Arrabuarena e Andreja Klepac. The girls’ next match will took place tomorrow against the Russian couple  – main draw’s n.6 seed – Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova/Lucie Safarova.
