Another great battle won by our warrior Sara Errani who steps over Caroline Garcia and conquers China Open‘s last-16 Round right after beating world’s n.4-ranked Petra Kvitova in first round.

A success built on temperament and endurance by Sarita, who was not only expected to follow her previous perfomance against the n.2-seeded Czech champion but also to do it facing the last player whom she lost to last week in Wuhan Premier5. In fact, the French woman – WTA’s n.39 – played a tough trick on her, coming back from a 0-1 set and closed the match after over 2 hours of play (7-6, 4-6, 2-6).

This morning the final outcome showed us its favours. Each of 3 sets played have been very similar: Errani repeatedly took the lead, firstly going ahead 4-2, secondly 3-0 and finally 5-1. The only difference has been a flame of pride burnt within her opponent’s chest in the 2nd set thanks to Mr.Garcia’s support during the coaching-on-court, as the young French woman got back on the field and set a 6 consecutive-games streak. Luckily, the final set showed both players’ true colors and the experience gap had the lead role in Sara’s win. Final score: 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.

Another major victory both in terms of points valid for the Elite Trophy race and in terms of confidence, as now Sarita gathers two consecutive wins and needs to get ready for her next opponent Andrea Petkovic – who made it to last-16 round cruising past Sam Stosur (6-2, 7-5) – to face tomorrow on National Tennis Stadium at 2.30pm (local time). The match records are currently even as both contenders have got 2 wins each. Truth to be told, it was our champion who put a signature on the last meeting, played on Paris’ clay, with a double 6-3.

Once done with her singles match, Sara will take on her dobles challenge along with Flavia Pennetta and will try to get another payback for US Open semifinals’ loss over n.1 team Mirza/Hingis.
