Another amazing day for our Sara Errani who continues her singles winning streak and achieves her third consecutive match at the Beijing China Open.

For the second time this week our warrior steps in the National Tennis Stadium to face the n.13 seed  Andrea Petkovic aiming to write another chapter on the Italian tennis record book: in fact, today Sarita signed one more record to her palmarés as the one and only Italian to ever reached at least quarterfinals round in every Premier Mandatory tournament. (Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, Pechino).

Another round, another fight. Today’s match has been a merciless battle that Sara Errani won and marked:  after an early middle-range fire against the bleu Caroline Garciaon which she took a well-deserved revenge on Wuhan’s unlucky first round – today the Roland Garros finalist turned the war into a full contact affair with a way heavier boxer as the n.21 seed of the rankings. As the first set seemed already to be off to a good way thanks to an early break, the German gave immediately the punch back. No sweat, Sara understood the situation and promptly responded starting to hit not only Petkovic side of the net but also her nerves: she found the perfect way to go under her opponent’s skin and left her totally unaware of the psychological stress until the final gong, thus suddenly letting the German wake up to a bit morning. Drop by drop the rock is eroded. Final score: 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

For those who where already at the office, at school or unable to watch it live, here is a video of the last 2 games of play (Errani v. Petkovic):

Unfortunataly Sara could not bring home also the second payback in Doubles against the n.1 seeds Sania Mirza e Martina Hingis, who had previously shown her and her partner Flavia Pennetta US Open’s way to the exit door. The Italians – both former n.1s in doubles international rankings – made their way in the first set with unbelievable authority but the current queens were not willing to take it and fired back forcing the super tie-break. Final score: 6-1, 4-6, 6-10.
