For the 6th tournament in a row, Sara and Roberta have reached the doubles final.

After reaching the final in Miami, and winning Barcelona, Madrid, Rome and Roland Garros, they now made the final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. In the semifinal they beat Cibulkova/Zahlavova Strycova 3-6, 6-3, 10-6. In the final they will play against Kirilenko/Petrova (whom they lost to in Miami and beat in the Roland Garros final) or Pennetta/Schiavone (whom they beat in the Barcelona final).

This week, Sara has done an interview with the Italian Vanity Fair (she even made the cover). You can read a preview to the interview on the Vanity Fair website. Since there has been some controversy about the interview, Sara has released an official statement on her Facebook page. In English this reads:

“Hi friends,

Some days ago I did an interview with Vanity Fair in Valencia.

For sure it’s really hard to work with the media. You always play on the lines. It takes just half a word or a joke to create a problem.

Anyone who knows me will know what I meant and what I really said.

For sure I will send a message to Mario Balotelli, and I wish him and the Italian team all the best.

To all my friends and colleagues in tennis (men!), I believe they already know how much I respect them.
