Sara beat Irina-Camelia Begu yesterday and tonight she’ll play her 5th final of the year! The match against Begu wasn’t easy, especially in the first set. Begu took an early break, but Sara broke back halfway through the set, and then broke again in the 10th game: 6-4. The second set went a little easier: 6-1.

“I didn’t start well today – I was a little nervous at the beginning of the match,” Sara commented after the match. “Today’s match was my hardest of the week so far. I’m very happy to be in the final of this tournament. I like Palermo, I like this tournament, and all the people and staff here are always so nice to me. To win the title here like I did in 2008 would be a wonderful thing for me.”

In the final Sara will play against Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova. They have played three times before (Sara leading the head-to-head 2-1), but this will be their first meeting on clay.
