Sara won her first round in Marbella, as she beat Sorana Cirstea in three sets: 1-6, 6-4, 6-2. Sara started the match by breaking Cirstea in the first game, but after that, Cirstea won 6 straight games and raced through the first set. The second set was a lot closer, with breaks for both players. After the bad first set, Sara really improved in this set and finally placed the decisive break at 5-4. In the third set, Sara was up 5-0 in no time. Cirstea won two more games with an “all-or-nothing” approach to the game, but at 5-2, Sara broke Cirstea again and clinched the match.
In the second rounds, Sara will face the winner of Flipkens-Barrois, which is to be played tomorrow.
